Easter weekend Part 1

We started the weekend out with a party. This party was Benjamin's biggest fan/girlfriend Ava's party. So We broke out the Nike Shocks to show off.
Our friends Ashley and Robbie asked us to go mini golfing with them Saturday. We had to do something we could bring a one year old sweetie and Benjamin along. After calling ahead and finding out the coarse is not stroller friendly we had to come up with plan B (pictured above). Benjamin was a great sport and loved it. But wow, did my back ached by the end.

Benjamin had a cold for nearly three weeks that turned into a sinus infection. He was prescribed a yucky tasting antibiotic. He HATES it! Pictured below is his face one day after he ate it.

We couldn't leave you with a sad face. This was a really busy weekend. I will have to post part two of the weekend later this week. It will include some pictures of a dapper young man in his Easter suit!

Evelyn "Nan"

Benjamin has had the best babysitter ever over the last 10 1/2 months. Evelyn does more than watch him. She loves him. And he loves her. I never anticipated the how hard it would be to leave my little one with someone else when it was time to return back to work. Having Evelyn in our lives made my transition back to work easier and let me have peace of mind. God sent Evelyn into our lives for me as much as Benjamin. Today was his last regular day with Evelyn as his sitter. I am truly thankful for her!

Jonathan and I have always talked about putting him in a place when he can be with other kids and learn when he got out of the baby stage. He LOVES being around other kids and lots of people and action. So although our time ended a little earlier than we planned when Evelyn was offered another job, it is coming at a good time for Benjamin. I have been spending all of my days off touring and evaluating childcare centers. Wow, what a task.

This transition from Evelyn to a child learning center is exciting and hard for me. It feels as though he is "graduating" from Baby and starting to enter his toddler stage. He grows so fast!
Evelyn is a professional grandparent. Even though Evelyn is not his grandparent, He has figured out how to charm the "Nan" and get lots of extra special treatment.
This is how he greets her! With a huge smile and tight squeeze of the neck.

10 months

(I don't know why everything is underlined- I don' t know how to make it stop)

Things that I have learned over the last 10 months...

1. How to function on 4 hours of sleep for many nights in a row.
2. I really HATE snot. It is a mess. Is the reason my baby won't sleep right now. Which is the reason for number 1.
3. I LOVE hugs from my baby!
4. Toys were really created to distract babies from playing with what they think is fun. Blinds, fridge, door stoppers, TV/DVR equipment
5. Having a child is the most wonderful adventure!

Belly Laughs and Wild Hair

Since Benjamin was about 5 months old he has been fascinated with the hair dyer. He usually plays in his saucer when I am getting ready. One day I blew the blow dryer in his face and he laughed hysterically. So naturally when you find something that makes your baby belly laugh you do it over and over. And over. After the laughter and good times this is what you see...

Nine Months and on the Go

Benjamin is now 9 months old. He got his two bottom teeth for Christmas. He got his two top teeth this week and working on a few more. He is crawling and exploring everything. His new favorite thing is to pull up on the coach or your leg and then look at you for a proud acknowledgement of what he just accomplished.

Dad and Little Razorback ready to cheer.

He loves to destroy the stack of magazines we keep under the coffee table. You can see he really goes for the Parents magazines. He sometimes brings them to me. I think he may be trying to tell me something.

Rub a dub in the tub

Bath time. I love bath time. In the beginning when Benjamin was still really colicky bath time was our guaranteed 10 minutes of no tears. It has evolved to be a fun time of discovery and serious play. Once he outgrew the infant tub we introduced little ducky. HE LOVES IT! I recommend this product to all moms. Benjamin would stay in here until he was shivering blue.
Thanks Nana and Papa for my bath toys. They are fun and tasty!
