Evelyn "Nan"

Benjamin has had the best babysitter ever over the last 10 1/2 months. Evelyn does more than watch him. She loves him. And he loves her. I never anticipated the how hard it would be to leave my little one with someone else when it was time to return back to work. Having Evelyn in our lives made my transition back to work easier and let me have peace of mind. God sent Evelyn into our lives for me as much as Benjamin. Today was his last regular day with Evelyn as his sitter. I am truly thankful for her!

Jonathan and I have always talked about putting him in a place when he can be with other kids and learn when he got out of the baby stage. He LOVES being around other kids and lots of people and action. So although our time ended a little earlier than we planned when Evelyn was offered another job, it is coming at a good time for Benjamin. I have been spending all of my days off touring and evaluating childcare centers. Wow, what a task.

This transition from Evelyn to a child learning center is exciting and hard for me. It feels as though he is "graduating" from Baby and starting to enter his toddler stage. He grows so fast!
Evelyn is a professional grandparent. Even though Evelyn is not his grandparent, He has figured out how to charm the "Nan" and get lots of extra special treatment.
This is how he greets her! With a huge smile and tight squeeze of the neck.

10 months

(I don't know why everything is underlined- I don' t know how to make it stop)

Things that I have learned over the last 10 months...

1. How to function on 4 hours of sleep for many nights in a row.
2. I really HATE snot. It is a mess. Is the reason my baby won't sleep right now. Which is the reason for number 1.
3. I LOVE hugs from my baby!
4. Toys were really created to distract babies from playing with what they think is fun. Blinds, fridge, door stoppers, TV/DVR equipment
5. Having a child is the most wonderful adventure!
